CAP 2018 IAU Travel Grants Awarded
The CAP 2018 Scientific Organizing Committee (SOC) has received an overwhelming response of more than 90 IAU Travel Grant applications. The SOC is delighted to see the enormous interest in the CAP 2018 conference in Japan.
Faced with an oversubscription rate of 26 times the funding we had, the SOC has looked into additional sources of fundraising to enable more grants. We would like to express our gratitude towards the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) and National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) for having supplemented the IAU funds for grants.
The CAP 2018 SOC have at this point individually contacted all grant winners, as well as applicants on the short list.
Successful applicants will have to confirm their participation by providing proof of commitment of attendance such as air ticket and hotel reservation. Those who failed to do so within the communicated deadline will be removed from the list and short-listed candidates will be contacted.
